Local Boy Scout working toward Eagle rank with project at North Family Center

Eric Nesbitt, a Boy Scout from troop 768, is currently working toward a major step in becoming an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts, and has selected Greater Midland North Family Center for his Eagle Service Project.

During spring break in April, Eric invested 150 hours of service to the center where he painted bright, cheerful murals and handcrafted two bean bag toss games for the children to play. “It was really fun to use my artistic gifts to better the community. I hope the Center gets many years of enjoyment,” Eric said. “Perhaps, one day I can even bring my children to the center to see the monkeys,” he added.

Eric will be graduating from Dow High School in a few weeks and plans to attend Michigan State University in the fall.
