A new twist on spring housekeeping

(Midland, MI) – With the arrival of spring and warmer weather comes a desire to let in the fresh air and give our homes a thorough cleaning from top to bottom. Unfortunately the warmer weather also elevates the growth of mold and mildew and the fresh air brings in the pesky pollens that aggravate allergies and our health and comfort.

When mold, mildew and other microbes are out of balance or in the wrong places, they pose a threat to our health and to the buildings where we work, play and live.

“That’s why we’ve taken extra measures throughout the Greater Midland health and fitness facilities to protect our environments and equipment from bacteria, viruses, mold and mildew,” said Mike Woody, vice president of Operations.  “We’ve treated our facilities, including the locker rooms, gathering areas, work-out areas, and child care areas, with special certified safe antimicrobial products that eliminate musty odors and reduce microbial exposures.”

Greater Midland is committed to providing its members, visitors and guests with the best maintenance and housekeeping for cleanliness. This is now enhanced with the HALO OX and X-Microbe antimicrobial and preservative treatments. The organization was introduced to these products by Midland microbiologist and chemist, Curt White, who has more than 50 years of laboratory and field experience in controlling microorganisms in products, built environments and healthcare settings.

“Curt was able to sort through the varied ways of killing and controlling harmful microorganisms focusing on the needs of our facilities, equipment, our staff and our clients,” Mike said.

These treatments were donated to the organization through Microbe Free Solutionstm and their Fresh Start Programtm.
