GREATER MIDLAND IS GOING GREEN!

Join us in our new recycling initiative!

Greater Midland is going green in 2020!  Across our centers, we are implementing recycling initiatives to be a little kinder to our planet. With your help we can create a culture of sustainability throughout our organization and our community.

RECYCLING BINS

Across our centers you may notice these bins popping up!  Our color-coded system makes it easy to tell what items go where.

Returnables: Carbonated beverage cans, bottles and other items with refundable deposits.

Recyclables: #1-#7 plastics, glass, metal, coated paper food containers.

Landfill: Organic waste, used tissues, unclean recyclables.

You can also check out our handy graphic HERE, which gives you examples of what can be recycled.

RECYCLING TENNIS BALLS

The Greater Midland Tennis Center is also partnering with RecycleBall to implement a new recycling ball program!  Members will be able to drop off their used, dead and played balls in designated bins for recycling.  Felt and rubber from the balls are reused and purposed for building materials and other exciting applications.

We will also continue our other community initiatives, including donating used tennis balls to schools and organizations throughout Midland.

Hear all about our new program from Greg Bunker, Tennis Center Operating Board Vice Chair!
