Michigan’s Oldest Prison - Historic Tours

Take a trip to Jackson to experience the very first Michigan Prison, The Jackson State Prison. This prison was built in 1839 and is full of very intriguing prison history. Come experience several prison blocks where prisoners were once housed. 

This is a walking trip and it will include:

  • A guided tour of Michigan's 1st prison and a guided tour in Cellblock 7; which was the largest walled institute in the world.
  • Lunch, snacks, games, and prizes. (Prizes donated by Bayside Home Care)
