Call of the Wild event celebrates 10th year

(Midland, MI) – Whether you’re an outdoorsman, enjoy supporting your community, or just want some great food, head to the 10th annual “Call of the Wild” event held on January 23 at the Greater Midland North Family Center in Mills Township.

This event not only provides a fun and family friendly atmosphere to celebrate the outdoors, but it also allows participants and sponsors to give back to community that has seen its fair share of challenges.

“It’s always a fun time at Call of the Wild because everyone comes together, but the most important aspect is that all the proceeds go directly to programs and services that support our community,” said Misty Janks, executive director. Established in 1991, the family center began as an opportunity to offer programs and childcare to residents in northern Midland County—an area that has seen limited service offerings. Fundraisers like these help to provide these services for community members in the future.

Start the night with a hearty dinner then enjoy archery demonstrations, special guests, hunting, fishing and outdoor exhibits, and dozens of silent and live auction items all inside the warmth of the center’s giant gym.  There’s plenty of fun stuff for the kids too.

Tickets are only $12 for adults and $6 for kids 10 & under.  Call of the Wild runs from 5:30 -9 pm with raffles, 50/50, silent auctions, and live auctions throughout the night.

Seating is limited - Call 989.689.7770 to reserve your tickets today or visit any of the following Chemical Bank locations before January 14th to purchase your tickets: Larkin, Isabella Rd., Sanford, Edenville, Beaverton, Gladwin, Pinconning, Standish, Linwood or Kawkawlin.

Last year’s event raised approximately $23,000 to help support programs and services, including the scholarship fund so that regardless of financial situations, everyone can access all of the center’s services.
