Middle School Athletics Coord.
If there is no school due to inclement weather then there will be no athletic events for that day or evening -- regardless of what is occurring at the high school.
If the school closure lasts over two days, we will re-assess for practices.

Sixth-graders are allowed to participate in girls’ and boys’ cross country (a cooperative team between Northeast and Jefferson), girls’ and boys’ swimming, wrestling, and girls’ and boys’ track and field. Greater Midland/MPS will not allow 6th graders to participate in team cut sports (volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball) unless there is a need due to lack of numbers. 6th grade football players over 125 pounds will be eligible to compete on the 7th grade football team. 7th graders over 140 pounds will be eligible to compete on the 8th grade team.
how to register
The following must be turned in at the main office in the athletics black box before the start of practice or tryouts. If registering online, only the Physical Examination form is required; liability and concussion waivers are part of the online consent process.

Parents can register online using the Greater Midland registration program (click on the sport below to begin) OR fill out and return the Registration Form with payment to the Community Center or your school's Athletics Department.
Students who qualify for free or reduced priced lunch through Midland Public Schools will be granted a scholarship. To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the Free and Reduced Price School Meals Family Application by following the link and check the box allowing our food service department to share your application with school officials
Please respect officials, coaches, and other participants. Any player or spectator displaying unsportsmanlike behavior may be removed from the game, and/or the premises, at the official’s discretion.
