At Greater Midland, our centers aren’t just buildings. All of our Facilities are woven into the fabric of Midland as a part of our day-to-day lives.
Our Centers are where babies take their first steps, learn their ABCs, and giggle with friends in our early childhood classrooms. Seniors reconnect with old friends over a game of cards, while community members of all ages and abilities pick up a tennis racket or basketball for a healthy and active lifestyle.
Greater Midland is also a place where families can turn for food, diapers, and water during tough times. This vital work is possible because of your generosity!
Hug-A-Bear Workshop
Create a special memory and a new forever friend at our hands-on teddy bear workshop. Each child will build their own stuffed bear from start to finish in a fun, guided experience.
Participants will choose a bear body, stuff it, place a heart inside, and sew it closed. They’ll then decorate a hooded shirt for their bear using paint markers and iron-on patches, making each creation one-of-a-kind. Every bear goes home with an adoption certificate.
Muffins and juice will be provided.
Cost: $20 per bear
Registration: Pre-registration is required. Space is limited.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

TRAVERSE CITY STATE HOSPITAL ASYLUM
Take a guided tour into historic, unrenovated buildings and the underground tunnel system (built in 1883 ) of the former Traverse City State Hospital. The former Traverse City State Hospital is immersed in over 100 years of history.
RAIL BIKING:
Special manufactured bikes that ride on a railroad track. All of our bikes are 4-seaters that don’t require much effort at all, other than pedaling. All you have to do is pedal, chat, and have a good time.
INCLUDED: Trip will include snacks and games on the bus, all fees associated with the tours, box lunch from Grand Traverse Pie Company while exploring Silver Lake Recreation Area. The day will end with time to explore downtown Traverse City.
TIME: Bus leaves Coleman at 7:30am and returns at 7pm
