Good news comes in threes, or so the saying goes. 

It certainly holds true for the Greater Midland Community Centers, Inc.

First, GMCC was awarded management of The Dow Chemical Company’s Midland fitness facilities, and will direct programs and services at the corporate headquarters, the 1287 building, and the Larkin Township Facility. This commitment elevates the nearly century-old relationship between GMCC and Dow to a new level.

Second, GMCC has launched a new operating unit: Greater Life, a corporate wellness unit.  Greater Life will enable a focus on Dow services with the same level of award-winning excellence offered at all GMCC locations.

Third, after extensive interviews with leaders at Dow Health Services and GMCC, Bridget Sullivan has been selected to lead Greater Life as Executive Director.  Bridget brings a broad knowledge of and experience in wellness programming, membership growth and management, corporate fitness, and recreation programming.  This promotion is her third in eight years within the GMCC organization, and is a testimony to both her excellent performance and growth opportunities for employees within GMCC.

And this is only the beginning. 

On the heels of these exciting announcements comes the real opportunity – a bold and innovative new way to serve the Greater Midland community needs. 

Greater Life will provide Dow employees, retirees, and contractors with a whole new approach to wellness and fitness, looking beyond traditional programs and exercise models. Bridget will optimize the resources and experience of the most respected and firmly established wellness and recreation organization in the Great Lakes Bay Region to achieve our vision of integrating wellness into all aspects of the Dow community.

Bridget will officially begin her role as Greater Life’s Executive Director on March 12, and Greater Life will formally begin operations on March 26, 2012.
