Mike Woody, USPTA & PTR certified, is executive director of the Midland Community Tennis Center, an operating unit of Greater Midland Community Centers, Inc. He has been with MCTC since July 1993.

As executive director, Woody leads a staff of 35 team members who deliver creative tennis programs to people of all ages and ability levels. He manages the 32-court tennis complex (16 indoor/ 16 outdoor), directs the longest-standing annual USTA Pro Circuit Women’s Event (the Dow Corning Tennis Classic) and oversees 20 national, sectional, collegiate and local tennis events. He has developed and administers four additional recreational programs that are congruent with MCTC’s operations. 

Woody is a USTA Recreational Master Trainer and serves on the National Speakers Team for Cardio Tennis. He has been recognized for his community involvement, as well as his contributions to the tennis industry. In recent years, he received the National USPTA Facility Manager of the Year award, the USPTA/USTA national Community Service Award and the TIA/PTR Industry Involvement Award. In 2009, Woody was named a Rising Star by Junior Achievement of Central Michigan.

Tennis is a family affair for the Woody family, as both his daughter and son were named Michigan High School State Team Champions in tennis in 2009.
